Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

At IM Tax Solutions, we are committed to delivering high-quality professional tax and accounting services. Our fees reflect the time, expertise, and resources dedicated to each engagement. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may or may not be issued.

1. General Policy

  • All fees paid for tax filing, accounting, and consulting services are generally non-refundable once services have been provided, documents prepared, or tax returns filed.

  • Professional fees are compensation for the expertise, analysis, and advisory work performed, not for guaranteed outcomes with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or other authorities.

2. Advance Payments and Retainers

  • If a client pays a retainer or advance fee and chooses to cancel before any work has commenced, a partial refund may be issued.

  • Administrative and consultation costs incurred prior to cancellation (e.g., file setup, preliminary review, communication time) will be deducted from the refund.

  • Once substantive work has begun (document preparation, calculations, or filings), refunds are no longer available.

3. Errors and Corrections

  • If an error occurs due to our oversight, we will correct the issue promptly at no additional cost.

  • Where possible, we will also assist with filing adjustments, notices of reassessment, or correspondence with CRA arising from our error.

  • Please note that errors resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or late information provided by the client are not covered under this policy.

4. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will not be issued under the following circumstances:

  • If a client fails to provide complete or accurate documentation in a timely manner.

  • If a client changes their personal or business circumstances after services have begun.

  • If CRA, provincial tax authorities, or financial institutions make decisions outside our control (e.g., denying claims, reassessing taxes, applying penalties).

  • If delays occur due to government processing timelines.

  • If services are completed and delivered as agreed upon.

5. Service Satisfaction

  • While we cannot guarantee CRA outcomes, we are committed to ensuring client satisfaction with our professional effort and service delivery.

  • Clients are encouraged to communicate concerns immediately so that they may be addressed in a timely and constructive manner.

6. Final Decision

  • Refund determinations are made at the discretion of IM Tax Solutions management.

  • All decisions will take into account the amount of work performed, costs incurred, and fairness to both the client and the firm.
